Name: West Coast Leadership Alumni: How to be an Effective Board Member 02/26/19
    Date: February 26, 2019
    Time: 4:30 PM - 8:30 PM EST
    Event Description:

The How to be an Effective Board Member Workshop (similar to the previously offered Nonprofit Board Certification) offers guidance on the primary responsibilities for those currently serving on or planning to serve on nonprofit boards. Designed as an engaging experience, participants, regardless of experience, will become more knowledgeable about how the best boards operate, what is to be expected of board members, and how to become more strategic organizational leaders.

Thanks to the generous support of the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area and the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation, we are able to offer this nonprofit board certification workshop presented by Patrick Cisler with the Lakeshore Nonprofit Alliance for only $5 per person. Please note that due to the popularity of this workshop, we must limit registration to three representatives per organization

    A meal will be provided.

    About Patrick Cisler

Patrick was appointed Executive Director of the Lakeshore Nonprofit Alliance in 2013 but his initial involvement with the alliance began as one of the lead facilitators of the original Nonprofit Next Initiative. As Executive Director, Patrick is responsible for overall strategy, overseeing day-to-day management, supporting fellow executive directors, and as part of their strategic partnership with the county government, serving as Executive Director of Community Spoke. Prior to this role he worked as an independent contractor for several nonprofits and economic development organizations on short-term projects. Patrick holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Spanish from DePauw University. Locally, he is a graduate of West Coast Leadership, LEAD 365 and has earned the Innovation Methods Certification from the NewNorth Center for Design in Business. In a volunteer capacity he serves as Co-Organizer for TEDx Macatawa and as a Deacon in his church.
