Mark your Calendar for the 2019 3rd Annual Gala May 1, 2019 Downtown at the Howard Miller Community Center at 6pm.
Art te Leen (Dutch translation for Art to Loan) is a Zeeland High School art department program that allows for local businesses to display art on loan created by ZHS artists. This event was created to recognize young artists and heighten community awareness of our students’ talents. The third annual exhibit will feature juried artwork, professionally framed and matted, from 15 Zeeland High School students in grades 9-12. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend the gala.
At that gala, potential patrons will have the opportunity to view the art selections. Art te Leen pieces will be awarded on a first come basis promptly at 6:30. The first patron in the door at 6pm will be awarded the first selection. Selections will then continue to be made by businesses in the order that they registered. Our goal is to have all 15 pieces leased at the cost of $150 each. The funds generated by the exhibit and subsequent leasing will underwrite the program for the following year. Patrons will take possession of their selected artwork that night to exhibit at their business for one year. Patrons will also have their name recognized and printed on custom designed student t-shirts, note cards featuring student work, as well as in the Holland Sentinel, Zeeland Record, on the web, and social media. At the expiration of the term, May 1, 2020, framed artwork will be returned to the artist.
