    Weekly Kids Activities at the Holland Farmers Market Begin Wednesday, June 12

    The weekly Kids Activities at the Holland Farmers Market will return next week on Wednesday, June 12 from 9:30 am – 11:30 am.  Each week, the Kids Activities begin with Market Story Time hosted by the Herrick District library, followed by a fun, educational and hands-on activity led by a local non-profit organization or business. The Kids Activities are proudly sponsored by Higher Health Chiropractic

    The Kids Activities continue from 9:30 am – 11:30 am every Wednesday through August 21.  In addition to the organized activity, bubbles, hula hoops and coloring pages are also available each week. The Activities are free to attend though a parent/guardian must remain present at all times. 
     
    This Wednesday, June 12, Sing Song Yoga will join the Kids Activities for the first time ever following the Herrick District Library’s Market Story Time. Award-winning Sing Song Yoga® is an international kids’ musical yoga program where the song lyrics instruct children on the poses. Come join the fun and experience why the program provides both body and mind benefits for children of all ages!

    Join staff from Saugatuck Center for the Arts as they help kids explore the relationship between graphic shapes and imagery and how warm and cool colors interact by using printmaking. Children will make a craft that they can take home with them.

    Busy Hands and Busy Brains
    Holland Christian Preschool
    With help from the staff at Holland Christian Preschool, children will use all five senses to experiment with produce, plants and other items found right here at the Holland Farmers Market!

    Let’s Keep Our Water Clean!
    Macatawa Area Coordinating Council
    Staff from the Macatawa Area Coordinating Council will have a variety of hands-on activities, including games and crafts, to teach children about water pollution and the actions we can take to protect our water.

    Kids’ Food Basket
    You are never too young to begin volunteering! With help from Kids’ Food Basket, children will get a chance to decorate a brown bag that will be used for a healthy sack supper distributed daily this school year for kids in need right here in Holland.

    Fruit and Veggie Stampin’
    CDS Lakeshore Head Start
    Join the staff from CDS Lakeshore Head Start, as they will help kids use fruits and veggies found at the Holland Farmers Market to stamp a work of art that they can take home with them.

    Knowledge Has Value
    Holland Education Association
    Members of the Holland Education Association will teach kids the importance of reading by handing out a free book to each child and helping them create a bookmark they can take home with them.
     
    August 7
    Strategic Yard Games
    Holland Recreation Department
    Join the staff from the Holland Recreation Department as they encourage strategic thinking with a variety of family-friendly yard games that are fun for children of all ages!
     
    August 14
    Help Clean Up the Water Shed
    Holland Museum
    The Holland Museum will be here with a variety of inventive hands-on activities from their Spark! Lab interactive exhibit that focus on preventing pollution in the Great Lakes!
     
    August 21
    Mr. Potato Head
    Holland Area Arts Council
    During this popular activity, the Holland Area Arts Council will help kids create one-of-a-kind potato heads using potatoes from the Farmers Market, googly eyes, pipe cleaners and more!
