Holland, MI – What is the watershed and why is it important to keep it clean? Find out this Wednesday, August 14 at the Holland Farmers Market Kids Activities! The Holland Museum will be on hand with their interactive Spark! Lab exhibit to teach children all about the Macatawa Watershed and why it’s important to protect it to keep the Great Lakes clean! The Kids Activities are proudly sponsored by Higher Health Chiropractic and begin at 9:30 am with Market Story Time hosted by the Herrick District Library, followed by the Holland Museum activity.
The Holland Museum tells the story of Holland, Michigan from its founding by Dutch immigrants to today’s innovative, successful and diverse community. Featuring thousands of fascinating historic objects, the Museum’s permanent galleries are not to be missed. Also on display are the Dutch Galleries, featuring artwork from the Netherlands from the 1600s through the 1900s. Last August, the Holland Museum debuted The Smithsonian Institution’s Spark! Lab to provide the Museum’s youngest visitors with hands-on activities created with invention and innovation in mind.
The Kids Activities at the Holland Farmers Market are held every Wednesday morning through August 21. The Activities begin at 9:30 am with Market Story Time hosted by the Herrick District Library, followed by a free, educational and hands-on activity hosted by a local non-profit organization or business. In addition to the organized activity, bubbles, hula hoops and coloring pages are also available each week. The Activities are free to attend though a parent/guardian must remain present at all times.
