TCM Counseling was created in 1977 to provide mental health services to the Tri-Cities community. Forty two years later, we have grown substantially and provide accessible and affordable mental health services to all of Ottawa County.
In the first half of 2019 the number of clients has doubled from last year.
Earlier this year TCM Counseling received a grant from GHACF to conduct market research surrounding our past TCM Counseling identity, and relevance in our area. This research verified and validated that we have outgrown our name. The market research guided us though comprehensive focus groups, and the resulting analysis led us to this exciting announcement:
TCM COUNSELING IS NOW MOSAIC COUNSELING!
The name and logo are the only things that have changed. Our model is the same and most importantly, we will continue to serve anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Ottawa County.
Every day we see people from different backgrounds, socioeconomic circumstances and different life experiences. We see the mosaic of life through our clients. This mosaic of diversity is what makes our community a vibrant, beautiful place to live and work and seek help toward building a better life.
In the coming months we will be rolling out a new website, new email addresses, and new marketing materials to reflect our new name and our new brand.
Thank you for your continued support of our organization.

“Through the partnerships that we develop, we are able to help people piece their lives back together. These people, who were once broken and hurting, are able to live lives that are better, and it is a privilege to walk beside them on their journey toward hope, healing and wholeness.” ~ Dan Ward, Mosaic Counseling Board Member
National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month
September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, a time to share resources in effort to shed light on this stigmatized topic. Suicidal thoughts can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background. Suicidal thoughts, although common, should not be considered normal, and everyone can help prevent suicide.
Mosaic Counseling offers FREESuicide Prevention Training (QPR: Question /Persuade/Refer) to any groups. So far in 2019, we have trained over 1,400 individuals in Suicide Prevention Training (QPR). We also bring our training right into schools to teach kids what to look for, and what to do if they think someone is at risk.
According to the Ottawa County Community Assessment Survey, teenagers ages
13-18yrs have become extremely at risk. Approx. 20% have seriously thought about suicide, and 8% said they attempted suicide one or more times in the past 12 months.
We will continue to educate as many people of all ages as possible in suicide prevention, and with additional funding will be able to expand our reach to train more people than ever in the upcoming year.
If you are interested in scheduling a QPR training, please contact our office at 616.842.9160.

The attendees of Women Who Care Holland/Zeeland Area met for their quarterly meeting on May 30, 2019, and selected Mosaic Counseling (formerly TCM Counseling) as the recipient of their funds! On July 31, 2019, we were presented with the checks from this generous group.
These funds will have a measurable impact to people in our community by supporting Mosaic's School Outreach Program, Suicide Prevention Training (QPR), and client co-pays.
Thank you Women Who Care! We are so thankful for your support!
