Tulip Time Festival (www.tuliptime.com) invites you to join us for an evening of Dutch holiday traditions as we celebrate Sinterklaas Eve, on Friday, December 7, 2018.

Sinterklaas Eve festivities begin at 6:00p with Dutch lantern making, activities and storytelling at the Holland Area Arts Council located at 150 E. 8th Street. Dutch lanterns are available to the first 300 children beginning at 6:00p until supplies last.

We are collecting bag lunch items for Kids’ Food Basket at the Holland Area Arts Council from 6:00p – 7:00p. Please consider bringing a donation. High priority items include Cheerios, pretzels, raisins and Goldfish crackers. Click here for a list of additional items: https://www.kidsfoodbasket.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/wish-list-updated-8.27.18.pdf

At 7:00p, families head outside with their lanterns to join Sinterklaas on his white horse, leading the procession down 8th Street, from the Holland Area Arts Council to the Kerstmarkt, located at the 8th Street Marketplace at the corner of 8th Street and Pine Avenue. Activities at the Kerstmarkt include a special welkom ceremony, a photo opportunity with Sinterklaas, MAX Transit trolley rides and holiday shopping at this delightful outdoor European-style market featuring holiday items, delicious treats, and warm beverages.

The Sinterklaas Eve Celebration is a free event. Much of this event is outdoors, so dress warm and bring your holiday cheer!
