Royal Technologies and MFP Automation Engineering announced major growth projects in Jamestown Charter Township, representing $25 million in private investment, creating over 140 jobs. Lakeshore Advantage, the local economic development organization that assists employers with growth opportunities in Ottawa and Allegan counties, worked with the companies and connected them with local and state resources to support their expansions.

“Both Royal Technologies and MFP Automation Engineering are employers who invest generously in their talent force, dedicated to providing great manufacturing jobs in this community,” said Jennifer Owens, President of Lakeshore Advantage.  “To see them both continue to invest through their expansions reinforces that commitment to their growth here and we are both pleased and proud to support these two companies.”

Royal Technologies, an established, technology-based plastic injection molding company, is constructing a 50,000 square foot warehouse and a 270,000 square foot manufacturing facility on an approximate 24-acre plot of land, adjacent to its existing facilities on Quincy Street.  Royal Technologies is investing over $23 million dollars in this project that will create 66 new jobs.

“Here at Royal Technologies we value team work and excellence, and the result is that every day, our employees delight our customers and that has driven the need for this expansion,” said Jim Vander Kolk, President of Royal Technologies. “Thank you to Lakeshore Advantage and Jamestown Township for the help in deciding where this expansion would best fit for us and for our community.”

MFP Automation Engineering, a leading manufacturer and distributor of automation products specializing in pneumatics, hydraulics, custom manifolds, fluid power and more, has begun work on a 30,000 square foot building adjacent to their existing facility that will allow expansion in both operations and production. This expansion will create 75 jobs within two years of completion.

“At MFP Automation Engineering, we work to serve. Valuing continuous improvement, we are excited to expand here in order to increase both in operation and production while creating more jobs in this great community,” says Roger Betten, President of MFP Automation Engineering. “Thank you to Lakeshore Advantage, Jamestown Charter Township, and the Hudsonville Chamber for helping us continuously improve our business and the lives of those affected by this expansion.”

The Hudsonville Chamber of Commerce has been leading placemaking efforts to attract and retain talent to support growing businesses in Ottawa County. The Hudsonville Chamber supports businesses and employers in the Jamestown Charter Township and Hudsonville areas.

“The continued investment in the Hudsonville community by MFP Automation Engineering and Royal Technologies is incredibly encouraging,” said Michelle Fare, Executive Director of the Hudsonville Chamber of Commerce. “As our community continues to grow and redevelop, it’s critical that we maintain a solid base of primary employers and we are thrilled to see these incredible companies continuing to choose Hudsonville as the place that they are investing in facilities and jobs.”

Jamestown Charter Township approved a PA 198 Tax Abatement over 12 years to support both the Royal Technologies and MFP Automation Engineering projects.

“Jamestown is very happy to have employers like MFP and Royal Technologies in the township,” says Ken Bergwerff, Supervisor of Jamestown Charter Township.  “They are excellent neighbors and outstanding employers. We count it a privilege to partner with them in making our community stronger.”
