• Ribbon Cuttings

  • Let us help you celebrate!

Are you opening a new business, expanding at your current location, relocating or celebrating a milestone anniversary? Let the West Coast Chamber help you celebrate!

  • A ribbon cutting ceremony is an important part of your overall marketing and advertising plan and is a great way to kick off a grand opening or relocation of a business. The ceremony gives the business owner or manager a chance to say a few words to those gathered. Business owners have used this time to publicly thank their financial backers, their employees, their friends and family, and/or their business partners. They also take the opportunity to talk about what their business does.

A Ribbon Cutting is YOUR event.

    What the Chamber does:

    • Schedules your event and provides an online event page for you to share with guests you invite to the special occasion.
    • Brings the “BIG scissors” and ribbon.
    • Invites our Ambassadors and staff.
    • Takes photos to share in print and social media.

You plan and coordinate everything else about your special day. Please understand that you should not rely solely on the Chamber to attract your audience.

  • Schedule your Ribbon Cutting event at least two weeks in advance. Ribbon Cuttings are held Monday - Friday, from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. To give each event maximum visibility, a limited number are held each week. Please plan ahead to reserve your date and time.

  • You must be a new or current Chamber member in good standing (including dues paid) for the Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce to participate in your ribbon cutting.

Once you’ve scheduled your event, make it great! Here are things to consider to make your event successful:

    • We encourage you to conduct your own PR campaign to boost attendance.

    • You should also consider inviting your business partners, financiers, contractors, employees, customers, friends, and family to be with you to celebrate this momentous occasion in your business’s history.

    • Refreshments, drinks, door prizes, and decorations are optional and up to you. Many businesses add these extra touches when conducting a public grand opening in conjunction with the ribbon cutting. We can supply you with a list of members who can assist you with catering.

    • Decide who will cut the ribbon and who should be in the photo, and plan your remarks.

  • Open 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday -Friday
