Public Policy Committee
Generally meets on the second friday of the month at the Holland office, check the event calendar for details. This committee is open to all West Coast Chamber members.
The WCC Public Policy Committee is charged with the task of identifying, analyzing and prioritizing key issues and topics at all levels of government related to the business community. The committee then develops recommendations to the Board on positions that represent the priorities of the West Coast Chamber and affect our local economy, business environment and quality of life. All sides of the issues are studied thoroughly to ensure that position recommendations align with the overall mission of the Chamber.
At the beginning of the Chamber year in September, the Public Policy Committee initially seeks to identify two to three primary issues on which they anticipate seeing movement over the course of the next year. Additionally, the committee studies other issues as they arise. Guest speakers representing city, county, regional, state and federal topics are often invited to the meetings to help educate the committee on areas of importance.
